When processing project payments for ESalesGuru Professionals, it is essential to choose a payment method that will provide you with the greatest security and assurance possible. Below is a list of potential payment methods with some benefits and drawbacks to consider for each option. Some of the payment methods provide more protection than others.

Fast, secure and user-friendly payment gateway. Payment is deposited directly into the Professional's Paypal account.

Option of either using your credit card or a direct transfer from your bank account.

Secure transaction process as your Credit Card or Bank Account information is safely encrypted through PayPal's server. Professionals will not see your credit card number at any time.

Automated payment tracking. We recommend saving and uploading the Paypal receipt to your Personal Message Board in order to keep a proper paper trail of your project payments.

Drawbacks

While presently available in 55 countries, Paypal may not be a viable option for Professionals residing outside those prescribed areas.

Credit Card Payment through other Online Transaction Providers or a Professionals Payment Gateway

Limited liability. Credit card companies usually offer a certain degree of identity and purchase protection. Contact your Credit Card Company to learn more about their protection policies.

Some ESalesGuru Professionals have the ability to accept Credit Card payments through their Merchant Account Provider. It is essential to check out the Payment Gateway provider being used by the Professional to ensure they have the proper security measures in place for your transaction.

Personal or Cashier's Checks

Benefits

Traceable to a particular mailing address.

Provides proof of payment.

Majority of banks provide a stop payment service if issues arise before the check is deposited.

No transaction fees.

Drawbacks

Professionals must wait for funds to clear. Different banks have varying policies on International Checks.

Very challenging to recover in cases of fraud.

Bank to Bank Wire Transfer

Benefits

Payment is sent directly from your bank account to the Professional's bank account.

Relatively fast and convenient. (2-4 business days)

Payment is deposited directly into the Professional's account.

Money Orders

Benefits

Traceable to a particular mailing address.

Provides proof of payment.

Some services give the option to stop payment if problems arise before the payment is cashed, but you may not always have that option.

As mentioned above, it is important to save and upload (where possible) "Proof of Payment" to your Personal Message Board in your ESalesGuru account to keep a proper paper trail of your project payments. We do recommend confirming the mode of payment with the Professional prior to commencing with the project.

It is also essential to work out who will incur the transaction fees for such payment modes as Wire Transfer and Online Transaction Providers such as Xoom.com. You might negotiate a cost-sharing of the transaction fees but typically it is the responsibility of the Professional to bear the costs of the transaction fees. This is an important point of discussion prior to begining the project.
